John Horn was born in 1836 and to moved to a farm 3 miles east of Plainview in 1867. He lived on this farm until 1900 and then moved into Plainview where he died in1923. His daily diaries provide a fascinating, detailed description of an early settler's daily activities. His great grandson, Charles Wood, donated the diaries to the Plainview History Center.
